Greetings on hump day, here once again, so we are making progress on the week, cheer up.
Tit for tat, what goes round comes round, you reap what you sow, etc. But let's get serious, and you'd best pay attention.
In Nichiren Buddhism, it's Cause and Effect and is a Universal Law, and as laws go, it is best to heed it as a Law just like any man-made Law. Like, if you make a bad cause there will be nobody to arrest you. And if you make a good cause, there will be nobody to pin a medal on you.
But here is the thing, once a Cause is made, rest assured, the consequence is starting to work. You know. Good Cause, good effect. Bad Cause, bad effect. Inevitable and absolute. No time limits. Sadly, in this age, Cause and Effect is a principle most people take for granted. Nichiren Buddhists live by this Law, with great respect. Does that mean we do no wrong or make bad causes, heck NO, but if we do make a bad cause we know why and accept the bad consequence. We don't run to some Deity way out yonder somewhere and ask for forgiveness or moan about "Why ME".
You see, in this Buddhism we know that this Great Spiritual Power resides within each of us on earth, that's why it's power. So this Power is available to us constantly, so when we pray we actually are praying to ourselves. We pray by chanting, and there is never a doubt that are prayers will not be anwered, just as certain as we know we are subject absolutely to the Universal Law of Cause and Effect. What a wonderful of happiness to know that no matter what life has to offer, we can handle it, take it on, whatever. Even best, it will prove itself.
All for hump day. I will go into a bit more detain in my next blog. If you are not strongly biased against other spiritual ideas and philosphies, the check back for with an open mind and who knows, you might start to see a new way of life. A beautiful way. Cheers CJ
